Job Description

SinaLite is a leading wholesale trade printer and custom packaging provider, serving 20,000+ print businesses, resellers, and entrepreneurs across Canada and the US. With 26 years of printing experience and over $45 million invested in cutting-edge print technology, we help our clients maximize their print profits — and we're just as invested in helping our own team grow. We were named a 2025 Regional Finalist in Canada's Best Managed Companies Program, and we're looking for our next Senior Director of Finance to help us keep raising the bar.

Compensation: $160,000 - $200,000

Location: 335 Steelcase Rd East, Markham, ON (In Office)

About the Opportunity

SinaLite and Willowpack are looking for a Senior Director of Finance to join our leadership team and take ownership of the financial strategy, discipline, and decision support required to support two growing manufacturing businesses.

This is a hands-on senior leadership role for an experienced finance professional who understands that strong finance leadership goes well beyond reporting the numbers. You will help shape business decisions by bringing greater visibility and discipline to cash, working capital, manufacturing costs, margins, investments, and financial risk.

SinaLite is an established wholesale printing business focused on protecting and expanding margins, while Willowpack is a rapidly growing packaging manufacturer requiring disciplined management of capital, working capital, and costs as it scales.

We're looking for a skeptical, analytical, and commercially minded finance leader who is comfortable challenging assumptions, getting into the details, developing a strong finance team, and giving leadership the financial clarity needed to make better decisions.

For the right individual, this role offers a clear opportunity to grow into a VP-level position within approximately two years.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Cash, Liquidity & Working Capital

  • Build and own a rolling 13-week cash forecast and longer-term liquidity models.
  • Develop, measure, and report key working-capital metrics, including DPO, DIO, DSO, and the cash conversion cycle.
  • Partner with Operations, Sourcing, and the Controller to improve inventory, receivables, and payables performance.
  • Model the cash and working-capital impact of business growth and changing operating conditions.
  • Manage banking and lender relationships, credit facilities, and lease obligations.

Manufacturing Costing & Margin Management

  • Develop and maintain accurate job, product, and SKU-level costing across our manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure costing accurately reflects materials, labour, yield, scrap, and other production costs.
  • Partner with Sales to establish pricing guardrails, cost-based pricing floors, and margin expectations.
  • Provide clear financial reporting that allows leadership to understand the economics and performance of SinaLite and Willowpack independently.

FP&A & Strategic Decision Support

  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
  • Translate strategic objectives into measurable financial targets and forecasts.
  • Develop forward-looking, probability-weighted risk and opportunity assessments covering both profitability and cash.
  • Build financial business cases for capital expenditures, investments, and major strategic decisions.
  • Track investment performance and returns following implementation.
  • Provide leadership with scenario modelling and data-driven recommendations to support major business decisions.

Compliance, Controls & Government Funding

  • Oversee government funding opportunities, including applications, claims, compliance, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian and U.S. tax, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Strengthen internal financial controls, policies, and procedures appropriate for a growing manufacturing organization.

Finance Team Leadership

  • Assess the existing finance structure and identify opportunities to strengthen capabilities.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop finance and FP&A talent.
  • Ensure team members are positioned effectively across controllership, treasury, and FP&A responsibilities.
  • Build greater financial accountability across the organization.
  • Help operational and functional leaders understand the financial impact of their decisions.

Systems, Data & AI

  • Maximize the value of NetSuite and our broader financial reporting systems.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting and financial analysis.
  • Use AI, analytics, and emerging technologies to improve the speed and quality of financial insights.
  • Champion a data-driven approach to decision-making throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation required.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in senior financial leadership within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong manufacturing cost accounting experience, including job/product costing, inventory, material yield, and scrap.
  • Proven experience managing cash and working capital through periods of rapid business growth.
  • Strong FP&A, forecasting, scenario modelling, and financial modelling capabilities.
  • Experience evaluating capital expenditures and developing investment business cases.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and lead high-performing finance teams.
  • Experience working within an entrepreneurial, privately held, or founder-led organization.
  • Experience within printing, packaging, converting, or a related manufacturing industry is a strong asset.

What We're Looking For

The right person for this role is someone who:

  • Challenges assumptions — You don't accept a number simply because it was presented to you. You validate it, understand it, and speak up when something doesn't make sense.
  • Gets into the details — You can operate strategically while still being willing to dig into the numbers when necessary.
  • Thinks ahead — You identify financial risks and opportunities before they become obvious.
  • Communicates directly — You can translate complex financial information into clear recommendations for leaders across Finance, Operations, Sales, and other functions.
  • Takes ownership — You approach decisions with a business-owner mentality, high integrity, and accountability for outcomes.
  • Builds strong teams — You develop talent, raise expectations, and create a finance function capable of supporting continued growth.
  • Is comfortable challenging leadership — You have the confidence and executive presence to pressure-test assumptions and provide a different perspective when the numbers support it.

Why Join SinaLite & Willowpack?

This is an opportunity to take on a highly influential finance leadership position across two distinct manufacturing businesses at different stages of growth.

You'll have the opportunity to directly influence how we manage cash, evaluate investments, improve manufacturing margins, scale Willowpack, and make strategic decisions across the organization.

We're also looking for someone who can grow with us. For a high-performing finance leader who demonstrates the ability to operate as a trusted financial partner to the President and leadership team, this role offers a pathway toward VP-level leadership within approximately two years.

If you're a hands-on finance leader who enjoys challenging assumptions, solving complex manufacturing finance problems, building strong teams, and turning financial data into better business decisions, we'd like to hear from you.
